MEET THE MASON POTLUCK MOMS! We are two groups of moms from Mason, Ohio that decided it was better to share food with others than make meals every night for our families. The blog is being used by two groups of moms that trade meals monthly or bi-weekly. We each make a meal times four and trade so we cook once and have four nights of meals to serve our family. Hope you enjoy our recipes.

Pulled Pork with Root Beer Barbeque Sauce by Holly

1 2 ½ - 3 lb. pork sirloin roast
2 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp. cooking oil
2 12-oz. cans root beer (not diet)
2 medium onions, cut into thin wedges
1 cup bottled chili sauce (8-12oz bottle)
1 12-oz. can root beer (not diet root beer)
8 to 10 hamburger buns

Trim fat from meat. Sprinkle w/ ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp pepper. Brown on all sides in hot oil. Drain fat & transfer to crockery cooker. Add onions, 1 can root beer, and garlic. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or high 4-5 hours.

For sauce, combine 2 cans root beer and chili sauce. Bring to boil; reduce heat. Boil gently, uncovered, about 30 minutes. If desired, add ¼ tsp root beer concentrate and several dashes bottled hot pepper sauce.

Transfer roast to cutting board or serving platter. Using slotted spoon, remove onions from juices and discard juices. Using two forks, pull meat apart into shreds. Add meat to sauce. Serve on hamburger buns.
